Trying no to be as commercial as possible sometimes you just see something that gives you the chills. Just watching this trailer for an IMAX mountain climbing flick really shows how small humans are compared to the great landscape that surrounds us. To go up has been one of the grandest challenges since we have walked this Earth. Even though the depths of the ocean make the mountain tops minuscule it has always been the goal to get to the highest mountain peaks. Can’t wait to see this gnar on the big screen!!

The record quarter pipe vert record falls to Simon Dupont rocking skis. This record was previously held by snowboarder Terje Haakonsen. Simon aired out of the pipe 35 feet over the lip of the giant quarter pipe. It was estimated that Simon was amped up to 55 mph to hit that height. To take the gnar to the next level, Simon went ahead and corked out a 900 during the record jump. gnar.

On November 1st 2007 a giant swell hit the reef at Teahupoo, (pronounced Cho-pu) in Tahiti. It set up to be a tow in surfer’s dream. Teahupoo is considered by many to be the heaviest wave on the planet because of its massive lip. This also makes it one of the most dangerous waves to surf because the giant lip can pin you against the shallow reef its breaking on. Unfortunately, the thrill of riding this wave has claimed the lives of surfers seeking the ultimate ride.

Until recently Laird Hamilton was credited with surfing the “heaviest wave ever ridden” which can be seen in the surf film Riding Giants. The Nov. 1st swell produced three of the entries into this year’s Billabong XXL ride of the year competition.

Shane Dorian’s wave ultimately captured the victory. What you don’t see in the video is him getting shot out of the end of the tube on his way to glory. Regardless, check out the footage of this epic day.

This is freakin insane. I can’t really say anything about this but to see this in action. Jamie Pierre hucks himself off of a 255 foot cliff in the Grand Targhee resort in Wyoming. This is BASE Jumping altitude and he flies off of it and lands on his BACK!! Way Gnar.

After being ribbed extensively for not feeding everyone their gnar fix I hope to start posting gnar on a more regular basis again. This stuff is like crack to you guys! Which is awesome.

I try not to get caught up in all of the new product releases and promos but this video is sick…period. It isn’t often that you get to see matrix style special effects in an action sports video.

Anyways, Aaron is a multiple world champion kiteboarder for whatever that is worth. This is a video to promote his new kite model which will be obsolete in a year. Get this boy some bindings and throwing more wake style moves and it will change the game. You can learn more about Aaron HERE.

After a slow start to the winter, the season is now in full bloom. February saw back to back swells to keep everyone happy. Local regulars and visitors were on hand to tackle the many big barrels giving everyone their fair share. Featuring, Flynn Novak, Danny Fuller, Marcus Hickman, Makua Rothman, Kalani Chapman, Kobe Abberton, Reef McIntosh, Jaime O’Brien, and others.

Although mostly against motor shiat this is some pretty sweet stuff. Ken Block and the DC snowboard team combine a rally car with snowboarding at New Zealand’s Snow Park NZ resort in September 2007 for DC’s snowboard video Mtn.Lab 1.5. A photo from this shoot was featured on the cover of Snowboarder Magazine, and the story was featured in an article in 0-60 Magazine.
